Bismarck Fishing Guide - North Dakota Fishing Guides

Bismarck fishing guide

We are local Bismarck fishing guides specializing in the Missouri River System of North Dakota. The lead guide, Chris Hustad, has spent countless hours fishing local waters mostly in search of walleyes. The winter, spring, and summer are spent in pursuit of a hot bite and we want to share this amazing experience with you. As a Bismarck fishing guide, we're able to be on the water in a moments notice and can accommodate any group.

North Dakota offers world class walleye fishing from a wide assortment of lakes, rivers, and reservoirs. As a North Dakota walleye fishing guide our commitment is simple - to be where the fish are biting. While the majority of guide services focus on one body of water, we prefish many to be on top of the bite and move to where we can offer the best fishing available. We have lodging available via houses, hotels, and an RV to provide the shortest possible drive. We want you to be on the water quickly and comfortably.

Another morning and another nice bunch of fish.  We were trolling even more shallow today and found a lot of active fish between 18-20″ (when we weren’t sorting out smaller fish).  They’re saying thunderstorms this evening/tomorrow but then I’ll be back on the water for Sunday with my son. We were pulling crankbaits on Lake Oahe. Enjoy this Lake Oahe fishing guide report!  Read More →

This is the right time to book with one of our Lake Oahe fishing guides, the action is really heating up.  The past week we’ve struggled with large numbers of smaller fish, but that’s now beginning to change.  We took the boat out with the sole intention of running crankbaits yesterday and really cleaned up on the walleyes.  I doubt we ever went 10 minutes without a fish hitting one of the lines, with many doubles and even triples going at once.  While we were...

A 24" walleye caught on crankbait in Lake Oahe. Lake Oahe Fishing Guides – Well it’s been a couple weeks since I reported last, my apologies.  I’ve been really busy pre-fishing for last weekends tournament and pre-fishing for the southern end of Lake Oahe for clients.  The fishing hasn’t slowed down in the least.  We’re now in the post spawn period and it’s long enough now where the females are starting to go on a terror.  I am occasionally catching...

Lake Oahe Fishing Guides – It’s getting to be that time of year, tournament time.  I have the Big Muddy Walleye Tournament on May 5th (2 Saturdays from now) – so I will be pretty secretive with my photos and reports for that reason until after the tournament is over.  When I’m not with clients I’m doing a lot of tournament scouting; looking for new holes, seeing what works and what doesn’t, etc.  Fishing was great this past 5 days.  We had...

Lake Oahe Fishing Guides – Kicked off the guiding season with a bang with a 50-walleye outing.  The fish size ranged from 14-24″.  We even caught a few nice sauger going up to 20″ in length, and as always, a few pike.  We rarely went over 5 minutes without some action.  The dead sticks have been crazy this year and leaving a jig dragging the bottom has been picking up A LOT of fish.  So when you’re not jigging them up, you’re reeling them up...
